Introduction
An exceptional Trails Guide opportunity is available at a well-established Lodge in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. This position is ideal for an experienced and passionate Guide who is committed to guest safety, professional guiding and creating memorable Wildlife experiences.
The successful Trails Guide will conduct informative wilderness trails and guided activities while maintaining high standards of safety and guest engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the natural environment, excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead guests professionally.
This live-in Lodge position offers a highly negotiable salary, medical benefits, a provident fund and a flexible work cycle. It is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Guide seeking long-term career development within the Wildlife and hospitality industry.
Job Requirements
- Relevant accredited Trails Guide qualifications.
- Valid FGASA qualification and current membership.
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and Professional Driving Permit.
- Current rifle-handling qualifications and relevant competencies.
- Previous experience conducting guided Trail activities.
- Strong knowledge of Wildlife, conservation and the natural environment.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- Professional, responsible and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work effectively as part of the Lodge team.
- Well-presented, reliable and passionate about hospitality.
- Willingness to work according to the required live-in cycle.
- Ability to create educational and memorable guest experiences.
- Strong commitment to ethical guiding and conservation practices.
- Comfortable working in a remote Lodge environment.
Package
- Highly negotiable salary based on experience and qualifications.
- Salary of up to R25 000 per month for an exceptional candidate.
- Live-in accommodation provided.

- Work cycle of six weeks on and two weeks off; or
- Alternative work cycle of three weeks on and one week off.
