Introduction
An exceptional Guide opportunity is available at a luxury Lodge in Madikwe, North West. This position is suited to a qualified and experienced Trails Guide who is passionate about Safari experiences, guest service and the African Bush.
The successful Guide will conduct professional game drives and guided bush walks while delivering memorable five-star guest experiences. Additional responsibilities include guest hosting, airstrip transfers, children’s activities, dinner hosting and assisting with general lodge maintenance when not occupied with guests.
Applicants must be confident, adaptable and safety-conscious, with excellent communication skills and a strong team spirit. The ability to establish positive working relationships with trackers, guides and other Lodge departments is essential.
Guide Job Requirements
- FGASA Trails Guide NQF2 or NQF4 qualification.
- Viewing Potentially Dangerous Animals qualification.
- FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling qualification.
- FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF4 qualification.
- Valid PDP and First Aid certificate, preferably wilderness-orientated.
- Department of Tourism registration for Madikwe Game Reserve.
- Relevant SAPS firearm competency or licence to possess a firearm.
- CATHSSETA certification.
- Minimum of three years’ guiding experience.
- Experience conducting game drives and Bush walks.
- Strong guest hosting and communication abilities.
- Confident handling unwanted creatures and removing snakes safely.
- Passion for Safari, conservation and five-star hospitality.
- Willingness to assist with Lodge maintenance when required.
Lodge Guide Package
- From R15 500 – R16 500 Gross, plus
- Rand per Bush walk.
- Live-in accommodation, meals, uniform and laundry.
- Medical aid contribution of R1 478.35 after three months.
- Wi-Fi, gym access and selected staff discounts.
- Complimentary lodge stays and family visitation benefits.
- Work cycle of 36 days on and 12 days off.
- 21 floating leave days annually, subject to operational requirements.
