Hospitality and Outdoor – New Vacancy – Spa Therapist
Big 5 Reserve – Zululand – KwaZulu-Natal
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Spa Therapist to join a luxury hospitality operation within a renowned Big 5 reserve in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be passionate about wellness, guest care and delivering exceptional spa experiences. This role requires a qualified therapist with strong knowledge of massage techniques, body treatments and beauty therapies, combined with excellent communication skills and a professional approach to guest service.
Job Description & Requirements:
- Deliver professional massage treatments, body therapies and wellness services in line with spa standards and protocols.
- Perform manicures, pedicures, waxing and facial/body treatments.
- Ensure appointments start and finish within allocated treatment times.
- Educate guests on wellness concerns and recommend suitable treatments and products.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and guest information.
- Communicate effectively with guests during treatments and adapt techniques where required.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and report incidents to management.
- Maintain exceptional hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards throughout the spa.
- Clean and sanitize treatment rooms, equipment and instruments before and after use.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages of products and consumables.
- Enquire about guest medical conditions, allergies and treatment contraindications.
- Promote spa treatments, retail products, specials and promotions.
- Assist with general spa operations and support lodge management when required.
- Host and interact with guests outside of the spa environment when necessary.
- Tertiary qualification in Somatology or equivalent (essential).
- Valid driver’s license (essential).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Spa Therapist (essential).
- Proven experience in massage techniques, manicures, pedicures, waxing and face/body therapies (essential).
- First Aid certification will be advantageous.
- Strong anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, stand for extended periods and maintain a positive attitude.
