An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Maître d’Hôtel to join a prestigious luxury hospitality operation in Tzaneen. This role is ideal for a service-driven professional who is passionate about guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and leading front-of-house teams to deliver memorable dining experiences.
The successful candidate will oversee restaurant and dining operations, ensuring that guests consistently receive exceptional service in line with luxury hospitality standards. The role requires a confident leader who can manage service teams, maintain operational efficiency, and uphold the highest levels of professionalism within a busy hospitality environment.
Job Description & Requirements:
- Oversee the daily operation of restaurants, bars, and dining areas
- Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally
- Coordinate restaurant reservations, seating plans, and guest flow
- Monitor service standards and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Work closely with kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with stock control, service equipment management, and operational administration
- Ensure cleanliness, presentation standards, and guest areas are maintained
- Support revenue generation through excellent guest engagement and upselling initiatives
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail
- At least five years of relevant experience in a four- or five-star hotel or hospitality environment
- Relevant qualifications appropriate to the position
- Strong organisational, operational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and guest relations skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within luxury hospitality environments will be advantageous
- Wine, food service, or hospitality management training will be advantageous
