Hospitality and Outdoor is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for a luxury lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manager with strong technical knowledge and proven experience in facilitymaintenance to join a professional luxury hospitality operation. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the overall maintenance, upkeep and functionality of the lodge, buildings, equipment, gardens, recreational areas and surrounding business areas.
Job Requirements – Maintenance Manager, Lodge & Facility
- Grade 12 – Essential
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager – Essential
- Previous luxury lodge experience – Preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems
- Understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
- Basic vehicle servicing experience
- Road maintenance experience
- Solar system experience – Preferred
- Strong knowledge of facility machinery, equipment and maintenance procedures
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
- Strong attention to detail, initiative and interpersonal skills
- Presentable, well-spoken and professional
- Ability to manage and lead a maintenance team effectively
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance programmes and stock control
- Ability to work according to company standards, relevant legislation and safety requirements
The successful manager will oversee the overall maintenance of the lodge, including buildings, fixtures, furniture, equipment, landscaping, gardens and recreational facility areas. Responsibilities will include preventative maintenance, stock control, maintenance budgets, HACCP compliance in kitchens and food production areas, equipment servicing, team management and guest satisfaction checks.
