Situated in the spectacular Greater Mapungubwe region of Limpopo, this exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate and skilled Head Guide ready to lead a dynamic Guiding and Activities Department while helping shape the future of a rapidly expanding wildlife destination.

This exceptional Conservation and hospitality opportunity comes at a pivotal time as the reserve expands from approximately 12,500 hectares to 23,500 hectares. The expansion will create exciting opportunities to develop new guest experiences, wilderness trails, cultural excursions, wildlife encounters, and outdoor activities across the greater reserve. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering world-class guest experiences while ensuring the highest standards of guiding, safety, environmental responsibility, and departmental leadership.

As Head Guide, you will oversee guiding operations, mentor and develop guides and interns, manage daily activities, and contribute to conservation initiatives and wildlife monitoring programs. This role is suited to a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable leading a guided walk, training junior guides, coordinating departmental operations, and creating memorable guest experiences. Job Requirements

• Relevant FGASA qualification and current Trails Guide qualification
• Valid Tourist Guide registration
• Previous experience as a Senior Guide, Assistant Head Guide, or Head Guide
• Experience conducting guided walks in Big Five Reserve environments
• Valid driver’s licence and PDP
• Current First Aid certification
• Firearm competency and guiding-related rifle qualifications
• Strong knowledge of wildlife, tracking, ecology, and Conservation
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and training ability
• Experience managing guide teams, rosters, and departmental operations

Package 

• Salary: R15,000 – R25,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience
