Hospitality & Outdoor is recruiting for a professional and guest-focused Guest Relations Officer to join a prestigious luxury game lodge based in the Port Elizabeth region.
This exciting opportunity is ideal for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service. The successful candidate will support the Lodge Manager with the day-to-day operation of the lodge, ensuring that all departments consistently meet and exceed guest expectations.
The role requires an individual who is confident interacting with guests, attentive to detail, and able to work effectively within a luxury hospitality environment. You will be involved in front-of-house operations, guest hosting, restaurant supervision, housekeeping quality checks, stock control, and reporting functions. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential.
Candidates should have previous experience within a luxury lodge or hotel environment and possess a solid understanding of front office operations, food and beverage service, housekeeping standards, and guest relations. Experience working with hospitality systems and strong administrative skills will be advantageous.
Job Requirements
- Hotel Management Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a Front of House or similar role within a 5-star lodge.
- Well-spoken and professional communication skills.
- Strong guest relations and hosting abilities.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel.
- Knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution, and Protel.
- Driver’s licence preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Good understanding of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage operations.
Job Description
- Support the Lodge Manager with daily lodge operations.
- Conduct housekeeping inspections according to company standards.
- Supervise restaurant service before and during meal periods.
- Ensure meal presentation and standards are maintained.
- Check guests in and out efficiently.
- Attend to guest requests throughout their stay.
- Coordinate additional guest services and special requests.
- Report operational anomalies and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with stock counts.
- Compile weekly and monthly operational reports.
