Guest Relations Officer

Introduction 

An exceptional Guest Relations Officer opportunity is available at a luxury wilderness reserve and wellness retreat in the Western Cape. This role is ideal for a polished, guest-focused professional who thrives in a high-end hospitality setting and enjoys creating memorable guest experiences from arrival to departure. The successful Guest Relations Officer will form part of the Front Office team, assisting with guest needs, itinerary coordination, communication, administration and discreet upselling within a luxury lodge environment. 

Job Requirements 

• Grade 12 essential. 

• Hospitality Diploma advantageous. 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 5-star lodge or hotel environment, or at least 1 year in a Front Office role. 

• Strong hospitality background with excellent guest service skills. 

• Highly computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. 

• Knowledge of a Property Management System at operator level. 

• Opera experience will be advantageous. 

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. 

• Fluency in one other local language. 

• Highly presentable, professional and detail orientated. 

• Proven ability to multitask and work well under pressure. 

• International travel experience advantageous. 

• Must be able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. 

• Able to welcome guests, coordinate itineraries and communicate guest expectations clearly to relevant departments. 

• Comfortable handling cash, guest profiles, credit card authorisations, open folios and group account administration. 

• Able to promote internal lodge facilities such as the restaurant and spa through discreet suggestive selling. 

Package 

• Market-related remuneration, dependent on experience. 

• Free self-catering shared on-site accommodation.

• Provident Fund at 7.5%.

• Work cycle: 24 days on and 8 days off.
