Hospitality and Outdoor is seeking an experienced General Manager for a luxury lodge in the Northern Kruger National Park area on a fixed-term contract from November 2026 to February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional with strong lodge management experience and a proven background in project management and lodge construction. The successful candidate will oversee the lodge’s daily operations while contributing to an ongoing lodge rebuild project, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence throughout this period.
Job Requirements
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Management would be beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years’ lodge management experience or 2–3 years’ General Manager experience in a high-end hospitality establishment (Essential).
- Proven experience in project management and lodge construction, particularly overseeing or coordinating a lodge rebuild (Essential).
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to monitor budgets, control costs and maintain operational efficiency.
- Excellent knowledge of all lodge operations, including front of house, food and beverage, maintenance, finance, operations and human resources.
- A guest-focused approach, with confidence in hosting guests and maintaining luxury service standards.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, guide and develop a team.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, demonstrating patience, flexibility and adaptability within a 24-hour hospitality operation.
- A proven track record and contactable professional references.
Package
- Salary: R60,000–R70,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
- Single live-in accommodation and meals provided.
- Fixed-term contract for the period November 2026 to February 2027.
- Regrettably, no pets or children are permitted.
Start Date: November 2026 – Fixed-term contract ending February 2027.
