Hospitality and Outdoor is seeking an experienced General Manager for a prestigious luxury lodge in the Hoedspruit Region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hospitality professional with a strong background in luxury lodge management and the ability to oversee all aspects of a high-end property. The successful General Manager will be a hands-on, guest-focused leader with excellent operational, financial, administrative, and HR skills. This Lodgemanagement opportunity is ideal for a dynamic individual who understands the demands of a luxury safari environment and thrives in a 24-hour operation.
Job Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Management or Hospitality is beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years’ Lodge Management experience OR 2 years’ General Management experience in a high-end establishment – Essential.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost control.
- Excellent administrative and HR management skills.
- Proven track record in luxury lodge management.
- Contactable references are essential.
- In-depth knowledge of FOH, F&B, Maintenance, Finance, Operations, and HR.
- Strong guest-focused philosophy with excellent hosting abilities.
- Excellent people skills, including tolerance, patience, and care.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable regarding working hours and shifts within a 24-hour operation.
- Ability to provide effective leadership, motivation, and professional management to all staff.
- Ability to manage and monitor costs and implement effective cost-control measures.
