Introduction
An exceptional opportunity is available for a passionate Camp Manager to join a luxury safari lodge operation. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on delivering outstanding guest experiences and enjoys working in a high-end safari environment. The successful candidate will play a central role in hosting guests, creating personalised experiences, maintaining brand standards, and supporting overall lodge operations. Working closely with the management team, you will ensure every guest journey is seamless, memorable, and exceeds expectations.
Job Description & Requirements:
- Welcome, host and engage with guests throughout their stay
- Prepare personalized welcome, departure and special occasion notes
- Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, dietary requirements and special requests
- Conduct lodge site inspections and host guest experiences
- Create personalized guest touchpoints and memorable guest delight experiences
- Monitor guest feedback and implement solutions to continually improve service standards
- Ensure all guest-facing areas are maintained and styled according to company standards
- Host meals and oversee smooth coordination between kitchen, butler and bar teams
- Assist with stock takes, stock orders and stock control procedures
- Support general administration including guest billing, day sheets and gratuities
- Assist with lodge operations in the absence of management team members
- Check arrival rooms and ensure they meet required standards
- Assist with safari shop operations when required
- Support staff training, learning initiatives and operational compliance
- Work across departments to ensure effective communication and guest satisfaction
- Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience within a 5-star operation
- Previous experience in a similar safari lodge role is essential
- Managerial experience is essential
- Valid, unendorsed South African driver’s license is essential
- MS Office proficiency is essential
- Knowledge of surrounding communities is advantageous
- PANstrat knowledge is beneficial
- Ability to host alternative guest activities such as fitness, archery, cooking, art or similar experiences is advantageous
- Wine and food knowledge essential
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, integrity, flexibility and willingness to learn
