A skilled Bookkeeper is needed for a hands-on Bookkeeper & Operational Inventory Controller role in Durbanville. This position suits a detail-focused professional who enjoys both finance and operations. The successful candidate will work with Xero. They wil oversee Inventory controls, and support business profitability through accurate reporting and strong procedures.
This full-time, live-out opportunity combines bookkeeping. Stock control, purchasing oversight, reconciliations, and operational compliance will form part of your duties. The role requires someone who can identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and ensure accurate records are maintained.
Job Description & Requirements:
- Manage creditors, debtors, reconciliations, payment allocations, and financial record keeping using Xero.
- Assist with month-end processes and management reporting.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor Inventory levels and place approved stock orders.
- Verify deliveries and ensure stock received matches orders and invoices.
- Conduct regular stock takes and investigate stock variances.
- Maintain strong Inventory controls and reduce wastage.
- Oversee food-cost reporting, cost-of-sales journals, and profitability analysis.
- Reconcile daily sales, card payments, cash receipts, and delivery platform transactions.
- Investigate discrepancies and unusual transactions promptly.
- Maintain supplier information, pricing records, and purchasing controls.
- Compile reports covering creditors, debtors, stock, food cost, wastage, and operational controls.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ bookkeeping, accounting administration, stock control, or financial administration experience.
- Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system is essential.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience with stock takes, receiving procedures, creditors, debtors, and reconciliations.
- Hospitality, restaurant, retail, food and beverage, or related industry experience is highly advantageous.
- Must be organised, analytical, trustworthy, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Must reside within 15km of Durbanville and be able to work on-site.
