An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced General Manager to lead a hospitality operation in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a strategic and commercially minded professional with a proven ability to manage operations, develop high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the overall management and performance of the property, ensuring operational excellence across all departments. This includes driving financial performance, maintaining service standards, implementing business strategies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
As the senior leader on site, the General Manager will provide direction and support to department heads while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Candidates should possess strong leadership capabilities, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to balance guest satisfaction with operational efficiency.
This position requires a dynamic hospitality professional capable of managing multiple business functions while maintaining a hands-on approach to leadership. The successful individual will play a key role in achieving business objectives, improving operational performance, and ensuring the property remains competitive within the hospitality market.
Job Description & Requirements:
- Lead all aspects of property operations including accommodation, guest services, food and beverage, maintenance, administration, and revenue performance.
- Ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational and service excellence.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, financial controls, reporting, procurement, and overall profitability.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop management teams and departmental staff.
- Implement business strategies, performance targets, policies, and operational procedures.
- Proven General Manager or senior hospitality leadership experience is essential.
- Strong financial, commercial, operational, leadership, and people management skills required.
- Excellent communication, planning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Package:
- Salary: R25,000 – R40,000 DOE
