Our client, a luxury lodge in Hluhluwe, seeks a passionate Sous chef with the guest experience and the care of the sustainability of the communities and environment as their core daily focus.
Requirements
- At least 2+ years’ experience in a similar position
- Passion for kitchen management – including kitchen administration, general hygiene and people management
- Passion for training staff, creating fabulous food and new ideas
- Good interpersonal skills
- Sense of urgency
- Passionate about guest delight
- Attention to detail
- Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines and keep on top of your job
- Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others
- Good communication skills
Description
- Set hygiene standards
- Responsible for training chefs and implementing kitchen standards
- Abide by 7-day Menu set according to company approved standards
- Work with the training chef when visits are conducted and be feedback fit
- Presenting food in accordance with company set standards
- Proactive maintenance
- Have good control on stock and stock rotations
- Responsible for all food orders, storeroom and fridges, in the absence of the Executive Chef
- All food produced to be checked in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Check all buffets, dinners and breakfasts
