New Vacancy – Sous Chef

Luxury Lodge – Grahamstown – Eastern Cape

Requirements:

  • 2 years previous Sous chef experience in a 4/5-star Lodge environment
  • Culinary Qualification
  • Currently working under a head chef
  • Currently involved in monthly stock takes
  • Understanding of costing and control systems
  • Preferably fine dining experience
  • Cooking and Hygiene qualifications beneficial
  • Menu compilation and implementation

Responsibilities:

  • Support Head chef in the daily operations of the kitchen
  • Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the Head Chef
  • Control food stock and food cost within the kitchen
  • Assist head chef with monthly stock takes
  • Prepare the daily “mise en place” and food production in different sections
  • Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation technique

Package on offer:

  • R 12 500 per month (Depending on experience)
  • Live – in position
  • 3 weeks on/1 week off work cycle
