Our client, an upmarket restaurant in Roodepoort, is seeking an experienced Restaurant Front of House Manager to manage their team.
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in an upmarket restaurant in a management position
- Hospitality Management Diploma or similar will be advantageous
- Knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette, such as wine pairing and fine dining table settings.
- Professional and polished appearance in line with the restaurant’s dress code.
- Ability to maintain a confident, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask under pressure and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of reservation systems and point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Multilingual ability
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, coordinating with back-of-house and management.
- Flexibility to take on various roles (e.g., seating guests, assisting servers, or solving guest issues).
- Commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs and offer personalized service.
- Conflict resolution skills for handling complaints or difficult situations tactfully.
- Understanding of the restaurant’s menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Basic knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails, with an understanding of luxury beverages.
- Familiarity with local and international dining trends to engage with discerning clientele.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Capacity to carry trays, plates, and drinks as needed.
Package
- Salary: R14 000 – R16 000 depending on experience
- This is a live-out position
