Our client, a luxury game lodge in Pongola, is seeking an experienced reservationist / front of house to provide exceptional service to their guests.

 

Requirements

 

  • Reliable own transport ESSENTIAL
  • Matric
  • Previous 4-star lodge experience
  • At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in lodge reservations / front of house
  • Hospitality Management Diploma or equivalent will be beneficial
  • Experience in booking/ reservation software
  • Proficiency in reservation systems (NightsBridge)
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong guest service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Friendly, approachable and professional demeanour
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accurate reservations and billing records
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve concerns effectively
  • Adaptability to changing guest needs and situations
  • Ability to upsell lodge services and packages
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Highly motivated, energetic and guest-focused

Job Description

 

  • Management of Reservations
  • Email correspondence, bookings on Nightsbridge system
  • Word & Excel competent
  • Creating & updating Reservation Chart
  • Compiling Day sheet
  • Preparing welcome notes
  • Room checks
  • Coordinating Housekeeping
  • Greeting & welcoming guests, Check-ins, and lodge orientation
  • Organising guests’ activities
  • Bar service in case no waiter is around
  • Preparing guest invoices
  • Manage agents’ correspondence and payments
  • Checking out guests and processing payments
  • Placing orders – kitchen, bar & housekeeping
  • Receiving stock and follow up on stock control
  • Stocktakes
  • Staff attendance control
  • Calculating and controlling days worked and leave
  • Running the curio shop
  • Managing the lodge in the absence of the lodge manager.

  • Salary: Dependant on Experience
