Our client, a luxury lodge in Sabi Sands, is seeking an experienced Maintenance manager to uphold the standards and lead the team of this esteemed lodge.

Requirements

 

  • Matric essential
  • Diploma or degree in facilities management or similar highly advantageous
  • Trade qualification highly beneficial
  • 3 -5 years’ experience in maintenance or facility management preferably in a remote lodge environment
  • Proven experience managing maintenance teams and third-party contractors
  • Familiarity with managing operations in remote or rural locations
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems (e.g., solar power) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in water systems management, including boreholes, water purification, and waste treatment plants.
  • Strong understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
  • Proficient in budget planning, resource allocation, and cost control for maintenance operations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with lodge management, guests, and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high aesthetic and functional standards of the lodge.
  • Adaptability to solve problems in a remote environment with limited resources.
  • Willingness to live and work in a remote location.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physically fit to handle the demands of the role
