Our client, a 5-star lodge set in a beautiful part of the African bush, is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager with an eye for detail to join their team.
Requirements

Grade 12
-
Diploma or degree in Hospitality Restaurant Management or similar preferable
-
Proficiency in Micros System
-
3 years’ experience managing a restaurant preferably in a lodge, resort or hotel
-
Experience in remote settings is an advantage
-
Strong leadership to oversee staff and interpersonal skills with guest first mindset
-
Polite, well spoken, presentable and can think on their feet
-
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Responsibilities

Create and maintain relationships with guests in the restaurant

Daily meetings and handovers with staff
-
Staff rostering making sure all services are covered adequately, staff rostering
-
Maintain and achieve restaurant targets

Monthly stock takes
-
Handle guest feedback and resolve any service issues promptly and professionally

Ensure compliance with liquor licensing and other local food service regulations
-
Enforce health, safety and hygiene standards in all food service areas
-
Coordinate closely with Executive Chef and kitchen staff to maintain seamless food service

Monitor food and beverage inventory, place orders and manage stock rotation
-
Maintain dining area aesthetics and ambiance suitable for the lodge environment
