Requirements
- Hospitality or Tourism National Diploma or tertiary training in the relevant area of study
- Guest Service Experience
- Excellent verbal, written communication skill and memorization skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong admin, mathematically orientated, and be proficient in computer skills (Microsoft, Outlook)
- Time management skills.
- Strong F & B / waiter / bar tending skills
- Proven with recorded FOH / Hosting / Reservation Experience
- At least 2 years of working experience in a relevant position to the job requirements.
- Experience in a 4*/5* Lodges would be a strong recommendation.
- English and Afrikaans (Fluent)
- Valid First Aid Certification (advantageous)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To represent company with in a friendly and professional manner with face-to-face meet and greet check in and assist in the Restaurant & Reception area.
- To meet all guests on arrival and discuss their itinerary for the duration of their stay.
- To ensure all guest fill in the indemnity and other necessary paperwork upon check in and handle all other admin related to Front of house position.
- To assist with accommodation bookings, restaurant bookings, stock take, month end, and all other FOH duties including hosting guests at all meals.
- To check guests in and out and correctly invoice the guests on our GHM & RM system.
- To be always available for the guest and assist them at the front desk.
- Be interactive with guest walking into the reception area, follow up with them about day activities and assist with all curios, activities and kiosk sales.
- To answer the telephone professionally and be polite always. To take clear and well-informed messages.
- To assist with and correctly book houses for guests and ensure we record correct guest information for invoice and relaying important information upon arrival.
- Maintain the front of house areas to always look their best (this includes all public areas such as the tasting room, public bathrooms, curio, front desk, bar, deck, and tables). Check on the face towels, tissues etc in the bathrooms.
- Proper hand over of everything and all operational information when there is a shift change.
- Assist with stock takes and all month end duties.
- To ensure no team member hang around at the reception and kitchen areas.
- Constant communication between FOH & management about houses that arrived and still need to arrive.
- Check all arrivals for in advance and put all pre-booked meals and activities on the correct systems, calendars, and sheets.
- To handle money and credit cards correctly and responsibly and complete all payments procedures.
- To ensure all transfers has been made between the systems, to create and check all billing on the invoice is correct, before showing it to the guests.
- To ensure all guests pay their invoices before they leave the premises and to hand in the house keys.
- To report all discrepancies immediately to the manager on duty.
- To complete all cash up duties.
- To preform house checks after housekeeping has informed houses are ready before guest can check into the house and ensure the house is clean and ready according to Company standards and procedures.
- To orientate all guests thoroughly with the facilities available, operation hours, mealtimes, activity times etc.
- To sell activities in correct way (try to fill activities which are already booked in the system and fill up the vehicles) – be active selling activities.
- To record all activities on the activity calendar and on our GHM system on the guest account. To constantly check in with Lodge manager and guides about availability.
- To record all meal orders, other information and dietary requirements on the meal board and relay to the kitchen and other team members.
- To assist and oversee the correct and timely serving of all manner of F&B according to Company standards and training.
- To assist with pushing food and beverages sales.
- To ensure Curio is always fully stocked and presentable.
- To pass on all relevant information (including complaints) to the other departments in the operation, to ensure that the guest receives services in a well-coordinated and timely manner. This includes additional information which may be relevant to developing and upgrading services, guest history records, management, and FOH Reception.
- To ensure the image of company and its policies are maintained through the provision of a disciplined, groomed, and professional approach, always promoting a friendly, and polite relationship between guests and company’ Colleagues.
- To actively enquire and recommend the services, activities, and facilities of company and surrounding areas to guests and visitors, ensuring they are kept informed of the full range of options available to them.
- To ensure the existing knowledge which is relevant to the services of company is created, maintained, and upgraded, in order to maintain the function of being the primary information source for visitors.
- Maintaining a level of customer service skills and behaviour commensurate with a 4* lodge.
- Maintaining at all times the cultural sensitivity of various nationalities.
- Be creative and think out of the box, think ahead and plan what can be offered to our guests to ensure we exceed the expectations – be proactive.
- Any other duties associated with your position to meet the needs of the business. (Ad-hoc duties)
Package
- R 7000.00 monthly
- Work cycle: 21 days on / 7 days off
- Annual leave: 15 days
