Housekeeping Manager

Luxury Safari Resort – Komatipoort, Mpumalanga

 

Requirements

  • Matric minimum, Qualifications in Hospitality preferable
  • 2-3 years of Hospitality experience in a Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager position (4/5* luxury property/establishment)
  • Computer literate (MS Office)- must be able to prepare/provide basic reports for HK, maintenance etc. Update stock control programs, SOPs, supplier documents and invoicing etc.
  • Excellent command of the English Language (verbal & written)
  • In-Depth knowledge of Housekeeping, Laundry and Public Area Service procedures.
  • Physically fit- able to lift and move items as well as being on their feet for shift
  • Excellent people skills- proven track record of managing a team well
  • Extremely detail-oriented and Guest centric
  • Sound knowledge of stock procedures and control.
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Solid work history with contactable references

Key Performance Areas & Main Duties:

  • Responsible for delivering excellent guest service at all times and maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and outlets.
  • Complete management of the Housekeeping function
  • Continuously upskill and develop the housekeeping team members.
  • Procurement, management, and control of all linen, amenities, guest supplies, cleaning and chemical supplies and operating equipment.
  • Performance management and discipline of staff.
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and disciplined work ethics
  • Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned and prepared, maintain cleanliness of all vacant rooms on a daily basis to the property and company standard.
  • Safekeeping and monitoring of laundry and housekeeping equipment
  • Ensure all information available on guests are collected and communicated prior to arrival.
  • To set annual operating targets, which will form part of the property’s annual business plan-To manage and monitor all costs and implement measures to control them.
  • To monitor and train, review and implement performance standards to establish and maintain a streamlined and efficient operations.
  • To ensure that departmental operations and training manuals are prepared and updated.
