Luxury Lodge – Hoedspruit – Limpopo
A luxury lodge in Hoedspruit is looking for an experienced Head Chef with a combination of culinary skills, leadership abilities and an understanding of hospitality services.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in culinary arts or equivalent professional certification.
- At least 5 years in fine dining or luxury hospitality, with 2–3 years in a leadership role as a Head Chef or Sous Chef.
- Proficiency in international and local cuisines, with a focus on creative, high-quality dishes.
- Knowledge of guest expectations in upscale environments.
- Experience leading a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, with strong delegation and training skills.
- Ability to craft innovative, seasonal, and balanced menus aligned with the lodge’s theme or regional focus.
- Proficiency in managing food costs, reducing waste, and overseeing inventory.
- Capable of handling high-pressure situations without compromising service quality.
- Willingness to engage with guests for feedback or special requests, offering a personal touch.
- Skill in catering to dietary preferences, allergies, and special requests.
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Guarantee consistent food presentation and flavor that meet luxury standards.
- A flair for creating visually stunning and innovative dishes.
- Commitment to using local and seasonal ingredients where possible.
- Ensuring every dish meets luxury expectations.
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of a remote lodge setting.
- Respect for diverse cultures, reflecting in food choices and guest interactions.
- Capability to prepare and monitor kitchen budgets.

Package
- Salary: R20 000 – R25 000 per month, depending on experience
