General Manager (F&B focused)

Luxury Lodge- Addo, Eastern Cape

An exciting new position has just opened up for a General Manager who has very strong fine dining F&B/ Restaurant experience. While you would oversee the daily operations of the lodge, the focus is on the F&B offering which is being developed from new with an outlet added. So along with excellent general F&B knowledge, you must also be very comfortable with implementing SOPs and cost controls. An element of creativity must also be present in recipe creation as well as in Beverage purchasing.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in a Food & Beverage managerial role with management experience within a lodge
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations
  • Relevant qualifications in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Computer literate with proficiency in hospitality management software: TallOrder and Nightsbridge
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written, good communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanour
  • Train and deliver world class international service standards
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • 100% Guest focused with Strong attention to detail and able prioritise effectively
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Description:

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations to ensure quality and consistency, including the kitchen
  • Work with the head chef to maintain food quality and presentation, ensuring all meals are checked and recipes are followed
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting to maximize profitability.
  • Set par levels for all stock, control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Develop and maintain high standards for service and customer experience in a fine dining environment
  • Train food and beverage team to deliver outstanding service
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all areas of the lodge
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and efficiently
  • Oversee and assist other departments in the lodge to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Manage and set up a new bar and food operation, to include pool service and room service in conjunction with the lodge owner
  • Assist with menu development for the bar and food operation
  • Recruit and train a new team for the bar and food operation

 

Package:

  • Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 CTC
  • Live n Accommodation (no pets or dependents unfortunately)
