General Management Couple

Boutique Safari Lodge- Addo, Eastern Cape

An exciting opportunity for a well experienced General Management couple to live and work in one of the most beautiful areas of South Africa. The couple needs to be business minded in a hospitality sense with extensive knowledge on budgets, forecasts etc but also extremely hands on with guests and staff!

 

Key Performance Areas & Requirements:

  • At least 10 years Lodge Management Experience at a 4/5* Safari Lodge property within Southern Africa and previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Efficient management of day-to-day hospitality operations- all functions of operations need to be supervised and managed carefully
  • Ensure that the asset is well looked after and all capital expenditure requirements are well thought through, costed and scheduled accordingly
  • Checking and reporting of required maintenance work (in accordance with the above and budgets). Strong practical maintenance skills given the rural nature of the location
  • Excellent Admin skills in relation to day to day operational accounting (cash ups, purchases etc) stock/inventory needs and procurement and HR needs
  • Excellent financial acumen: Short and Long term budgets, forecasts, reporting on performance
  • Excellent computer literacy: Microsoft office suite, Semper PMS experience would be excellent, general email and program savvy
  • Social Media Skills: efficiently manage online guest reviews and ensure all online and social media platforms are managed and are reflective of the establishment.
  • Excellent People Skills with both guests- extremely hands on- engaging with every guest, being the face of the lodge.
  • Responsible for swift handling and resolving of guest needs, requirements, and compliments and complaints
  • Must have excellent communication and staff relation skills- Inspires, motivates, and maintains good staff relations and productivity
  • Provides on-going staff training and development: organising training events etc to help upskill the current staff
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Able to work hospitality shifts and hours and maintain a good work-life balance.
  • As this position is a remote Safari position, appreciation for the great outdoors and knowledge thereof will be of benefit to successful applicants.

 

Package:

  • Very Competitive Salary for the right couple- please note the specs as this is a senior position.
