Requirements 

  • Matric 
  • 5 years + in a high end environment (this is a boutique hotel with a inhouse restaurant) 
  • Driver’s license 

Description 

  • Handling payments if needed 
  • Assist with restaurant bookings and any other booking that may occur, as well as functions in the restaurant 
  • Provide guests with information about the hotel, restaurant & Property. 
  • Assist with general admin if The Restaurant Receptionist is not there 
  • Ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy, if any maintenance should be required report it. 
  • Manage Waitresses & Barmen Rosters 
  • Helping to interpret reports and predicting future sales. 
  • Pitching ideas to senior management 
  • Daily Cash up 
  • Budgeting 
  • Reacting to any changes in customer demand 
  • Getting feedback from customers 
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits. 
  • Book and organize Restaurant functions. 
  • Work alongside all the Waitress/ Waiters & Barmen to make sure they are all up to standard with the menu, customer service. 
  • Promote Chef’s Special dishes to the tables and go to each table to make sure they are happy with service and the food. 
  • Co-ordinate with the kitchen to keep the customers happy and not let them wait to long for any order. 
  • Reprimand the staff when needed, along with Senior Management. 
  • Monitor, manage and review Cleanliness in Front 
  • Organize the work and schedules working hours. 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Vista’s Restaurant, including staff management, guest relations, and ensuring exceptional service standards. 
  • Train, mentor, and motivate restaurant staff to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a positive working environment. 
  • Manage restaurant inventory, including ordering supplies, controlling costs, and ensuring proper stock levels. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the restaurant. 
  • Monitor and evaluate restaurant performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability. 
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menus, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and pricing. 
  • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed guest expectations. 
  • Maintain strong communication channels with hotel management and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and presentation. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and staff. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
