New Vacancy – Executive Chef

4 star Hotel – Newcastle, KZN

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Advanced certificate in Professional Cooking (Essential)
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous Executive Chef experience in a luxury environment (Essential)
  • Experience with a la carte and buffets
  • Experience in catering for conferences and other functions/events
  • Good understanding of Food and Beverage trends
  • Creative
  • Knowledgeable of all dietary and religious requirements
  • Good knowledge and understanding of stock procedures and control
  • Mature, responsible and well-presented and ability to solve problems effectively
  • Excellent team leader with hands-on management skills
  • Sober habits
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current leading culinary trends
  • Maintain and go above the established standards of food hygiene, cleaning and food handling to maintain impeccable quality within the kitchen, which meet current standards of legislation and compliance
  • Manage, lead and train kitchen staff, ensuring food preparation to the highest standard
  • Effective Kitchen Administration to minimize shortages and wastage and effective stock control, assuming full responsibility of any shortages, wastage and variances
  • Co-ordinate the kitchen team to produce food items with attention to detail, and high standards of presentation
  • Manage and monitor all costs and implement measures to control them
  • Perform other tasks and assist in other departments whenever reasonable and deemed necessary by Management

Package on offer:

  • R25 000 per month – depending on experience
  • Live out
