New Vacancy – Botany Manager

4-star Luxury Hotel – Bantry Bay – Western Cape

A luxury hotel in Cape Town is looking for a Botany Manager to oversee the maintenance and management of the hotel’s greenery, landscaping and floral arrangements. This role ensures the hotel’s natural aesthetics enhance the guest experience and align with sustainability practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Landscaping Architecture or similar beneficial
• Certifications in landscape management, arboriculture or floral design are advantageous
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in horticulture, landscaping or botany management, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Experience managing large-scale landscapes and gardens
• Knowledge of managing botanical environments for luxury spaces
• Expertise in plant care and maintenance, including pruning, fertilising, pest control and irrigation systems
• Understanding native plants, exotic species and their suitability to the hotel’s climate
• Familiarity with sustainable landscaping practices, including water conservation and organic care methods
• Strong aesthetic sense
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage teams effectively
• Problem solving abilities to address plant health problems and environmental challenges
• Ability to work collaboratively with hotel management and other departments
• Attention to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Awareness of trends in sustainable landscaping and eco-tourims

Package

• Salary: R22 500 depending on experience
