4-star Luxury Hotel – Bantry Bay – Cape Town

A luxury hotel in Bantry Bay is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to oversee the bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and maintaining the bar’s profitability

Requirements

• Matric
• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage studies or similar highly beneficial
• Certification in Mixology, Wine and Spirits Education Trust, or equivalent, is highly preferred
• 3 – 5 years of experience in bar management, preferably in upscale, luxury hotels or fine-dining establishments
• Proven track record of leading a bar team and delivering outstanding guest experiences
• Expertise in mixology, including the ability to create signature cocktails and curate unique drink menus
• Knowledge of wine pairings, premium spirits and craft beverages
• Strong understanding of inventory management, stock control and cost-efficiency practices
• Proficiency in POS Systems and familiarity with sales tracking and reporting software
• Knowledge of local liquor laws and compliance requirements
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact with high-end clientele
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Problem solving skills to handle guest complaints and operational challenges
• A passion for beverages and staying updated on trends in the industry
• Familiarity with luxury hospitality standards and the unique expectations of 4 and 5- star guests
• Ability to analyse key performance indicators
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in beverage sourcing and waste reduction
