New Vacancy – Couple Vacancy: Field Guide and Reservations Manager/ Assistant Lodge Manager 

Luxury private game reserve in the heart of the Karoo.  Sleeping a total of 40 pax, within a big 5, environmentally sustainable lodge.  The main drive of the lodge is conservation of wildlife and vegetation.   

Requirements for the Field Guide 

  • FGASA Level 2 Guide qualification 
  • FGASA Full or Back-Up Trails Guide qualification 
  • FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling qualification 
  • Business Competency certificate 
  • Up-to-date First Aid 
  • Valid driver’s license with 4×4 experience 
  • Up-to-date PDP 
  • Computer literacy 
  • Passion for hospitality, conservation and sharing the wonders of the wild 
  • High standards of service excellence and attention to detail 
  • Proficient in English 
  • Photographic ability and editing skills advantageous 
  • Knowledge of Afrikaans or isiXhosa advantageous 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent teamwork skills 
  • Commitment to ongoing self-improvement and knowledge development 

Requirements for the Assistant Lodge Manager 

  • Minimum 3 years’ head of department experience in 5 star lodge environment 
  • Passion for hospitality and conservation 
  • High standards of service excellence and attention to detail 
  • Proficient in English 
  • Knowledge of Afrikaans advantageous 
  • Working knowledge of POS systems 
  • Working knowledge of food and beverage management systems 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills 
  • Experience of people management 
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure 
  • Commitment to keeping up to date with trends and developments in hospitality, travel and tourism 

Requirements for the Reservations Manager 

  • 3-5 years of experience in reservations within the hospitality industry 
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of PAN Hospitality software preferred 
  • Excellent written and verbal English 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Willingness to work in a remote, lodge-based setting 
  • Additional customer service experience advantageous 
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency advantageous
