Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accountant in the Hospitality industry (minimum 5 years). 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in preparing books to trial balance and management accounts.
  • Knowledge of SARS submissions, VAT reconciliations and returns, wages and salaries, UIF, PAYE, SDL, and WCA.
  • Extremely well-organized, proactive, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong filing and documentation skills.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Quiet, focused, and not easily distracted.
  • Fast learner with minimal supervision.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Disciplined, honest, and shows initiative.
  • Consistent, team player, friendly, approachable, and highly motivated.
  • Tertiary qualification in bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transport.

Description

  • Financial Reconciliation: Conduct creditors, bank, and stock reconciliations, manage petty cash, and ensure books are balanced to trial balance.
  • Accounts Management: Prepare management accounts, handle SARS submissions, VAT reconciliations, and returns.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee wages, salaries, UIF, PAYE, SDL, and WCA submissions.
  • Financial Reporting: Accurately complete daily, weekly, and monthly returns, submitting them in a timely manner as per company standards.
  • Supplier Interaction: Process supplier invoices, liaise with suppliers to resolve queries, and manage accruals and prepayments related to accounts payable.
  • Cash Management: Reconcile and balance cash, floats, and dockets with daily income and expenditure.
  • Stock Control: Assist with stocktaking at prescribed intervals and ensure accurate processing of stocktaking figures.
