Our client, a luxury hotel in Camps Bay, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. The accountant will play a crucial role in managing the hotel’s financial health, ensuring compliance and financial regulations.

Requirements

• Degree or similar in Accounting, Finance or related fields
• Matric
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting within the hospitality industry
• Familiarity with hotel-specific accounting practices
• Experience using hotel management systems (Opera, Micros, ect.) and accounting software
• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Expertise in tax-compliance, including VAT and other hospitality-related taxes
• Ability to handle accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll management
• Familiarity with audit processes
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management to meet tight deadlines
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
• Understanding of the hospitality business model and luxury guest expectations
• Awareness of key performance metrics for hotels (RevPar, ADR and GOPPAR)
• Knowledge of handling foreign currency transactions

Package

• Salary: R55 000.00
